We adopted Hayek in September of 2010 and we celebrate the anniversary of his adoption by buying him presents, toys, or yummy treats. These yummy treats typically include In-n-Out pup patties, Sprinkles' cupcakes, and/or Three Dog Bakery (in Del Mar) dog treats. He is a very special dog and deserves all good things! Okay, okay, yes, he's spoiled.
This year I decided to make him some of "Paco's Peanut Butter Cups" from the cookbook "Home Cooking for Your Dog" by Christine M. Filardi. This was the very first recipe I tried out from the book and it turned out great! Hayek loved the peanut butter cups. These peanut butter treats, were made with : rolled oats, mozzarella cheese, eggs and, of course, peanut butter.
The treats were super easy to make and very rewarding, too. They are good for 3 days in the fridge and can be kept frozen in the fridge for 3 months. Hayek kept asking for more and I will definitely be making this again in the future.
Happy adoption anniversary, puppy Hayek!
